THE Pietermaritzburg-based University of KwaZulu-Natal Hockey Club’s mini hockey and academy hockey programmes, situated in Golf Road, Scottsville, began three years ago and have kicked off once again for the new 2013 season. And the search is on formore recruits to add to the already very successful band of happy young hockey players who come along every week for expert hockey tuition and camaraderie with their peer group. A healthy number of boys and girls have been taking part once or twice a week in the evening on a weekly basis, and the children range from junior primary all the way through to senior high school level. “We cater for children fromthe ages of six to 12 years old in the mini hockey programme and then from12 to 18 years of age in the academy hockey programme.
