The UKZN PMB varsity cricket club's development programs aims to assist youngsters around Pietermaritzburg to fulfill their cricket potential. The program ensures a structure from where underprivileged cricketers are developed by  identifying talented players in disadvantaged areas and to create a feeder system for players to create a club cricket.

The UKZN PMB cricket club program consists of mini cricket clinics, holiday clinics and a youth academy system.
