Basketball is one of the fastest growing sports in South Africa with many schools beginning to offer the sport as an extra-mural activity. The growing interest of the sport has overwhelmed the sporting boards and unions. Due to this, basketball has not developed to its full potential in most communities.

The UKZN-PMB Basketball Club also known as the UKZN BEAVERS, has achieved great success over the past years and the marketability of the Basketball club based on recent achievements is very high.
